Composed by Gerasimos Siasos, the “in 7” is a big size frame drum solo which is developed in 7/4 rhythm, similarly to his previous solos “Four Steps From Epirus”, “ ζ’” and “ θ΄” for Epirotiko Defi, for Riq and Bendir respectively. Additionally, playing techniques, which originally introduced by musicians of different cultures, are presented and analyzed.

Composed by Gerasimos Siasos, the Four Steps From Epirus is a music piece for Epirotiko Defi, which is a medium-diameter frame drum with jingles from Epirus – the North West region of Greece. Being a novel and innovative work considering the Greek state-of-the-art in the field of the frame drums, the piece in scope aims to show the drumming capabilities of Epirotiko Defi while broadening its playing perspectives.

Greek Frame Drums Meeting II – main artist: N. Scott Robinson
Greek Frame Drums Meeting (G.F.D.M. I) was organized for first time on March 17-20, 2008 at Mesolonghi, Greece. G.F.D.M. was intended to become an international event that will be considered as a reference point for percussionists all over the world.
The success and acceptance of the first G.F.D.M. was triggered the conceiving of Greek Frame Drums Meeting II. G.F.D.M. II is about to be organized at the beautiful place of Krioneri, Mesolonghi, Greece at May 26-28, 2011. The main artist of G.F.D.M. II will be the Grammy Award Winning drummer N. Scott Robinson.
The workshops will cover rich material for the technique and interpretation of frame drums. Each afternoon is free for hikes, swimming, and practice.
Workshops will be with (Dr.) N. Scott Robinson, Gerasimos Siasos and Nicolaos Forlidas.
